Don Ames
Don Ames lived his early life in Minnesota. He joined the Navy when he was 17 and served for 27 years, retiring as a Master Chief Petty Officer. He married Beverly Myers of Annapolis MD and they enjoyed 66 years of marriage before she died in 2016.
After Don retired, he and Bev settled in Annapolis and became deeply involved in their community as generous and loving neighbors, craftspeople, and friends. Don and a few of his friends (Hugh and Ralph) founded the Annapolis
Woodworkers Guild in 1989. We will be forever
grateful that Don took that initiative. Our guild
currently has over 100 members! Don loved
teaching others about the joys of woodworking.
Don and fellow Guild members contributed to
making toys for local children's organizations.
