Brian is a Master in the Joiner Shop at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. Although Brian began his professional career with a degree in Technical Theater from Carnegie Mellon University, in 1999 he left that all behind to pursue a career in cabinet making at North Bennett Street School.

In 2008, Brian began working at Colonial Williamsburg in the Anthony Hay Cabinet Making Shop and He received his Journeyman papers in 2015. After almost 12 years studying and building furniture, Brian was accepted into the Joiner Shop as Journeyman Supervisor. In 2023, he became the Master. In his time at Colonial Williamsburg, he’s researched and built a variety of projects ranging from tea chests to circular windows.

Sash windows were an essential part of the 18^th century Joiner’s trade. Brian

will show us the tools, fixtures, and processes used in its construction.
