September 11, 2025 Speaker – Patrick Lieb, Heart of the Ocean Wood Designs

In 1983, Patrick began a journey with his brother Steve as a woodworker, designing and fabricating custom windows and doors for a nationally known company in Maryland. After working for a few years in the homebuilding and cabinetry professions, he went back to school and became a certified Industrial Arts / Technology Education Teacher. During his thirty-year teaching career on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, he instructed hundreds of students in woodworking, metalworking, photography, and computer applications in middle school, high school and college level courses.

Patrick retired from teaching in 2019 and started creating unique furnishings and wood art in his Heart of The Ocean Wood Designs shop on Old Bridge Road, West Ocean City, Maryland. His pieces are an eclectic display of wood grains and textures inspired by nature on the Eastern Shore peninsula. There are various types of exotic woods and lumber from the region used to create his wood art.
